Picture of Deer (Cervus elaphus) Paintings. Very cold. That's what I remember most about this oil painting. I made a small study for this painting taking advantage of an off-road trip in the north of the Highlands. When I saw those grasses \"burning\" in the setting sun I jumped out of the car wanting to paint them. But the minus 15 degrees below zero didn't let me do more than a small canvas that I used as a studio to paint the final one at home. You can be warm up to the top, but your hands freeze when you're standing still painting, and there's no glove to avoid it.
