    What an absolute gem, Sosa! The oval format lends it an air of a classical painting in the great naturalist tradition, almost like a 19th-century oil painting, but with the freshness and truth of the countryside that only you know how to capture. Capturing the partridge in full breeding season, perched on a stone in such a noble and defiant pose, is an absolute triumph.

    The treatment of light is simply masterful. That dense sun of the Mediterranean sunset or sunrise enters from the side and ignites the partridge's breast with spectacular orange and ochre tones, making the greys and the barring on its flanks vibrate with an incredible three-dimensional power. The textures of the lichen-covered rocks, the dry grass stalks backlit at the base, and the shady depths of the scrub in the background envelop the bird in a dense, untamed, and purely Iberian atmosphere. It is a beautiful painting with an extraordinary presence.
