    What a delightful painting, Manuel! This work conveys the heat of summer and the scent of dry cereal in a way that you can almost feel it. The red-legged partridge is the ultimate emblem of our dryland fauna, and depicting it in that golden sea is a stroke of genius.
    What a masterful handling of color and light, that field of wheat or parched tall grasses, beaten by the sun, where the ochre and straw tones blend with mastery. The three red-legged partridges are superbly captured: two of them alert in the upper right, standing out with their characteristic black collars and red bills, while a third peeks out from the bottom left in an impeccable compositional arrangement. The brushstroke, loose and vibrant in the grassland, gives it an extraordinary dynamism. A work with a beautiful Mediterranean light.
