I've been doing the same route for ten years now, thanks to my dog, who takes me out every day, rain or shine. In the background, the great granite mass of 'La Maliciosa', queen of the mountains of Madrid. Roe deer, foxes, martens have sometimes come across me, but here the protagonist is the cow, painted in this picture with her two 'chotos'... Oil on canvas. Manuel Sosa © 2018

True art in the hands and heart The fine art print is beautiful. It looks even better in person. I ordered it as a gift for a bird lover. By mistake, they sent me a different one, and Mr. Sosa had the wonderful gesture of gifting me the incorrect one and sending me the one I had ordered, which allowed me to give a truly magnificent gift. Both are beautiful. Thank you for your generosity. The person who received them is a follower of your paintings and was immensely happy. Many thanks.
European turtle dove I have this painting, and others too, a marvel. I have my home adorned with several paintings by Manuel: a Song Thrush, a Common Snipe, a Common Quail. If my house were bigger, I would have more. Thank you Manuel for making these paintings more accessible.
I was able to customize the fine art prints Many thanks for your help, very professional and approachable. I wish you all the best!

Alfredo Areces -
Manuel, what tremendous joy it gives me to see that you've uploaded a landscape! It's a spectacular change of pace. Although your wildlife portraits are unbeatable, when you open the wide-angle and take us to the countryside, you demonstrate a mastery with light, atmosphere, and the land that is pure mountain poetry. The Guadarrama in its purest form.
Upon contemplating this painting, the atmosphere transports you directly to a cold but bright late autumn or early winter day in the mountains of Madrid. The afternoon light is a true delight: low, golden, and grazing, strongly hitting the cottony clouds in the background and illuminating the silhouettes of the Avileña cows grazing by the rustic path.
Compositionally, the painting is masterfully balanced. The trees, bared by the cold on both sides, frame the scene and naturally guide the viewer's eye along the path, navigating the subtle puddles on the ground where the sky is reflected. In the background, the imposing bluish silhouette of La Maliciosa, crowned by the first white snowfields, watches over the entire valley. The play of textures in the foreground pasture and the traditional dry stone walls is superb, executed with a loose, confident, and impressionistic brushstroke that breathes pure air. It is a work that smells of rockrose, damp earth, and the mountains.
