    ¡Manuel, esto es una obra cinematográfica en el lienzo! Qué auténtico despliegue de fuerza y tensión salvaje nos traes ahora. Una composición que es pura narrativa de supervivencia en nuestra fauna ibérica.

    La adrenalina te salpica de inmediato. Es una pintura magistral por cómo logras plasmar el movimiento frenético. Ese grupo de corzos rompiendo a la carrera a través de una densa ladera nevada transmite un dinamismo brutal; casi se puede escuchar el chasquido de las pezuñas compactando la nieve suelta y el jadeo de los animales en plena huida. Las expresiones de alerta en sus rostros, las orejas erguidas y la tensión muscular de los machos con sus cuernas velludas están capturadas con un conocimiento de campo asombroso.

    Pero el alma de la obra, el elemento que eleva la tensión dramática al infinito, es ese «fantasma» que emerge al fondo entre la cellisca: la imponente figura de un lobo en plena persecución. Al diluir al depredador entre las pinceladas abstractas de la tormenta de nieve, consigues que la amenaza se sienta omnipresente y fantasmal, obligando a los corzos a saltar hacia el espectador en un primer plano arrollador. La paleta fría, dominada por los blancos puros, los grises e invernales tonos plomizos, hace que los pelajes pardos y encendidos de los ungulados vibren con una fuerza plástica y emocional tremenda. Es una obra maestra de la acción naturalista.
