Being shivering cold in the mountains and suddenly surprising this creature looking at your binoculars is an indescribable rush. I wanted to bring to this canvas that magical moment etched in my retina: the wolf lying at ease in the middle of the snow, enjoying total calm. I used wild brushstrokes and a lot of texture to sculpt it, letting the last rays of sun ignite the canvas. © Manuel Sosa 2026

True art in the hands and heart A beautiful plate. Better in natural. I ordered it as a gift for a bird lover. By mistake they sent me another one and Mr. Sosa was kind enough to give me the wrong one and sent me the one I asked for, so I was able to give a great gift. They are both beautiful. Thank you for your generosity. The person who received them is a follower of your paintings and it made him very happy. Thank you very much.
European Turtle Dove I have this painting, and others, a marvel, I have the house with several paintings of Manuel, thrush, woodcock, quail, if the house would be bigger I would have more, thanks Manuel for making these paintings more accessible.
I was able to personalise the prints Thank you very much for your help, very professional and approachable. All the best!

Jesús Arroyo -
Friend Manuel, it is, quite simply, one of your most moving, profound, and powerful pieces to date. You manage to make the viewer meet the gaze of the great ghost of the forest in such a direct way that it takes your breath away.
The plastic strength and mastery of the winter atmosphere are overwhelming. The wolf, with that amber, intelligent, and serene gaze, rests directly on the white mantle, sheltered by snow-laden branches that are barely hinted at in the upper corner.
Technically, the painting is an absolute exhibition of loose, energetic, and textured brushwork. It's masterful how you've rendered the fur, combining tawny, gray, and black tones with small white impastos that simulate snowflakes fallen on its back. And the play of temperatures is superb: the shadows of the compact snow, rendered with spectacular bluish and leaden cool tones, contrast perfectly with the golden warmth that strikes the animal's face and chest, endowing it with astonishing three-dimensionality and life. The fine-brush scientific inscription (Canis lupus signatus) gives it a beautiful classic naturalist's notebook feel.
