Two Hoopoes on a windowpane of an abandoned house. The loving male offers a delicious beetle to his beloved with the hope of being chosen. In the composition, the broken glass and the thistles are replicated in the birds to confer rhythm. Oil painting by © Manuel Sosa 2024

True art in the hands and heart The fine art print is beautiful. It looks even better in person. I ordered it as a gift for a bird lover. By mistake, they sent me a different one, and Mr. Sosa had the wonderful gesture of gifting me the incorrect one and sending me the one I had ordered, which allowed me to give a truly magnificent gift. Both are beautiful. Thank you for your generosity. The person who received them is a follower of your paintings and was immensely happy. Many thanks.
European turtle dove I have this painting, and others too, a marvel. I have my home adorned with several paintings by Manuel: a Song Thrush, a Common Snipe, a Common Quail. If my house were bigger, I would have more. Thank you Manuel for making these paintings more accessible.
I was able to customize the fine art prints Many thanks for your help, very professional and approachable. I wish you all the best!

Piluka -
Hoopoes are birds with a striking aesthetic magnetism due to their crests and zebra plumage, but the scene you have captured here has an incredible added lyricism. The contrast between the wild world and the rustic or decadent: that old window of worn wood and broken glass serves as a setting for an intimate scene of courtship or feeding, where one Hoopoe peeks from the top to deliver an insect into the beak of the other, which waits below with its crest magnificently unfurled. The detail of the dry thistles in the foreground on the right completes a sublime genre and naturalist composition. You have captured the essence of rural Spain and its fauna with memorable poetry and texture on the canvas.
